Part 1

Cadbury Advertisement

The Cadbury Advertisement Wouldn't It Be Nice released in 2007 is a successful advertising tool because it appeals to the target audience which is teenagers aged 10-14.

The purpose of this advertisement is to make the consumers want to buy this product so that they will become more like the person in the ad. It is trying to promote the products manufactured by the company and to increase the sale of it. Throughout the Advertisement, the interest of the teenagers is maintained by showing what life would be like if the world was cadbury.

The Target Audience of the Ad is for 10-14 year olds. We can see this by the way the Ad is presented. The colours, language, characters, shapes and the main product all would get this age groups attention very quickly.
The colours used in the advertisement are there to immediately draw your attention the the product and to the Ad to create excitement for the viewer.

The main written technique is used right at the end of the Ad where it shows the name of the actual product and also a quote from the song used in it " Wouldn't It Be Nice! ". This is a catch phrase that most people use like "wouldn't it be nice if i could do this now or have this now' it captures that teenagers day dream a lot and like to fantasise. There are limited written techniques which are an indication of how the target audience would much rather watch a video than read words.

Some of the visual techniques used are the whole setting of the Ad like the exciting bright colours and all the action going on in it. There is an exaggerated happy mood in the Advertisement. The whole world is made out of Cadbury chocolate and it makes any viewer feel like enjoying what the character in the Ad is enjoying too.  This makes the viewers want to be a part of it all and to buy the product.

This advertisement is a very affective one because it uses a variety of different visual techniques which connect with and are suitable for the target audience.

Part 2

Book Review

The book The Adventures of Pippi Longstocking is about a little 9 year old girl who lives on her own in a Swedish Town because her mum is dead and her dad was washed overboard while sailing in a storm at Sea. She shares her house with a monkey and a horse, who live on the porch. Pippi is a girl with flyaway braids and shoes exactly twice the size of her feet.

The book was written by a 38 year old journalist called Astrid Lindgren. She wrote The Adventures of Pippi Longstocking to please her daughter Karin who was ill and bedridden at the time.

Pippi Longstocking had absolutely no fear at all. She also was very thoughtful, kind and straightforward when dealing with others.
Pippi is not perfect, she makes mistakes and accepts the consequences that go with them.

This book was written at a time when little girls used to be neat, obedient and quiet. Pippi came out as an unwelcome shock to some parents. She is stronger than anyone and answers to no one while living her life full of adventure. This character is very attractive to young readers as Pippi is only nine years old.
